I used to write a blog, a long time ago.

In my second year of high school, I got my college admission in early October (it was around National Foundation Day or Hangul Day, so roughly this time of year). To protect the so-called “study atmosphere,” the school separated, or rather quarantined, the students whose college plans were settled from the ones still preparing.

Back then I binge-watched American shows like Prison Break and House M.D., played StarCraft nonstop, and at some point started watching five movies a day. That must have been when I opened the blog. I was watching so many films in such a short time that I felt the urge to archive them. Even now, I remember some of the movies from that period not by their actual plots but as a mix of two or three different films.

But a few years later, when a platform called Watcha (now Watcha Pedia) came along, I wrote on that movie blog less and less, and it eventually went dormant. I don’t even remember when I shut it down.

Now I’m starting a blog again.

The blog’s name (which, of course, I may change at any time) “A Tale of Two Worlds” comes from the title of <A Tale of Two Cities>. All of us live across two worlds of one kind or another: the personal world and the career world, the offline world and the online world, and in my case, the Web2 world and the Web3 world.

About 15 years after I opened that first blog, the world has changed a lot, and so have I. All those pairs of worlds have changed a lot too. The internet and AI pour out more information than anyone can keep up with, and on my end I keep running into new experiences, in my career and in my personal life. Just like back in high school when I was watching movies like crazy, I feel the urge to archive, or really the need to archive, and it’s getting hard to ignore.

This time I want to write more freely and casually. I’ll share stories from all these pairs of worlds, in no particular order.
