I lead major strategic initiatives at the global Web3 venture capital firm Hashed.
Beyond our investments as a financial investor, I lead a number of businesses the group runs directly: subsidiaries set up for strategic initiatives, venture-building subsidiaries we co-found with exceptionally talented founders, joint ventures with leading industry partners, and so on.
Right now I’m CEO of ShardLab, Hashed’s R&D arm, and of Hashed Open Finance, its fintech arm. As CSO of UNOPND, the venture-building arm focused on the content industry, I also served for a while as COO of the K-pop agency Modhaus.
I’m an engineer through and through: a science high school, then a computer science degree from KAIST (with a minor in math). I still think of myself as a software engineer. (Honestly, that feeling had faded quite a bit, but AI has given me my confidence in coding back.)
For my alternative military service, I worked at Korea Asset Pricing (at the time an affiliate of the global credit rating agency Fitch Ratings), building valuation models for credit derivatives (the financial products in the film The Big Short). After that I spent about five years at the global strategy consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
I’m a self-proclaimed cinephile who watches (or tries to watch) 100 films a year.
